How to make a Google review QR code (free)
How to make a Google review QR code in minutes: find your review link, generate the code, and place it where happy customers will scan it. Free tool included.
Most happy customers never leave a review, and the usual reason is friction rather than reluctance. If they have to search for your business, find the right listing and hunt for the review button, many won’t bother. A QR code on the counter removes all of that: they point their phone camera at it and the review box opens.
Here’s how to make one. (Short version: paste your review link into our free Google review QR code generator and download the PNG.)
1. Find your Google review link
You need the direct link that opens the review box for your business.
- Open your Google Business Profile, or search for your business on Google and open your listing.
- Tap Ask for reviews or Get more reviews.
- Copy the link it gives you. It usually looks something like
g.page/r/.../review.
2. Turn it into a QR code
Paste the link into our Review QR Code Generator, add your business name so it prints underneath, and download the PNG. It’s free and there’s nothing to sign up for.
3. Test it before you print it
Scan the code with your own phone first. Check that it opens your review box, not a search result or someone else’s listing. It takes ten seconds and saves reprinting a batch of cards.
4. Put it where the good moment happens
A review is easiest to get right after something has gone well. A few places that work:
- By the till or reception desk, as a small stand or sticker.
- On receipts or invoices, with a short line such as “Enjoyed your visit? Scan to leave us a review”.
- On a table card in a café, restaurant or salon.
- On a van, job card or follow-up message if you work on customers’ premises.
One thing to avoid
Don’t offer discounts or freebies in exchange for reviews. Google’s policies prohibit reviews that are incentivised, and it isn’t worth risking your listing. Asking at the right moment, and making it easy, is enough.
Reviews are only part of it
A QR code gets more people to your review box, but customers who find you through search will also land on your website. If you’re not sure how yours is doing, run it through our free Website Health Checker for a quick look at the basics.
