We built a free website health checker
Our free website checker tests any site for HTTPS, mobile-friendliness and SEO basics in seconds. No sign-up, nothing stored. Built by Bromputers.
On 1 October 2026 we built the Bromputers Website Health Checker: a free tool that takes any website address and tells you, in a few seconds, whether the technical basics are in place.
Why we built it
When we talk to small business owners about their websites, the same handful of problems keep coming up: no HTTPS, nothing set up for phones, missing page titles and descriptions. None of them is hard to fix, but most owners have no easy way to see them. We wanted a quick, jargon-free check anyone could run before deciding what, if anything, to spend money on.
What it checks
It scores a site out of nine and explains each result in plain English:
- The site is reachable
- It’s served over HTTPS
- Plain
http://redirects tohttps:// - The page title is present and well-sized
- There’s a meta description
- The mobile viewport is configured
- There’s exactly one H1 heading
- Images have alt text
robots.txtexists
We explain each of these, and how to fix them, in our nine-point guide.
How it works, and what it doesn’t do
You paste in an address. Our server fetches that page, looks at the code, and sends back the results. Nothing is saved: the tool doesn’t store the addresses you check or the results.
It checks the technical basics only. A perfect score doesn’t mean a site is good, and it can’t judge your writing, design or how easy you are to contact. It’s a starting point, not an audit.
Try it
It’s free, with no sign-up, at checker.bromputers.co.uk. You can also run it from the box on our homepage.
If the results show a few things you’d like a hand with, get in touch.
